Canvas "The Place We Want To Be"

I dreamed of living in the middle of the biggest city.
As if I were at the center of the Universe, where all the interesting things happen: events and celebrities revolve around me, luxury cars drive by, and shop windows sparkle.
As soon as you walk through the door, there are cafes and restaurants, and actors are sitting there, music stars are drinking champagne, and I sit down with them, we start a conversation or just hang out, because we see each other here every day, we know each other.
Tourists would flock to my city to take pictures, and villagers would get off the subway and buses, having come to socialize from their sleepy provinces.
My city would always be buzzing - bars, discos, concerts and theaters - it would be alive at night, because "New York never sleeps!"

So why, now that the dream has become a reality, do we sit with the doors locked, the windows closed, and our eyes closed? As if in a painting on the wall, we see a large field, a distant forest, and mountains. We hear the silence, the wind in the dry grass, a beetle on the warm terrace boards, the passing day.
